Chicago VJ Book Announcement
MFchicago is spearheading a new book on Chicago area VJ’s. The large format book will focus primarily on the Art of the VJ and the “creative frontier” of the Chicago VJ community. First publications are expected in the Winter or Spring of 2008. The book will contain a number of interviews with core Chicago based VJ’s such as MFchicago, Video Janitors, Merkaba, Psymbolic, Aesthetic Engineer, The Machinist, Mason Dixon and others that have brought VJing into the lives of so many. Essays by video artists, photographers, painters and musicians will describe their association, thoughts and perspectives about this new art form. Due to the large format and high quality publication the book will also feature many high resolution still captures of artists works and a website will be developed where buyers of the book will be able to download VJ sets. Interviews will be filmed in order to set the stage for a documentary.
